Blaca desert carries in itself a great monumental and historical value. it's beginning is the cave reconstructed with stones - the first shelter of land hermits.

 

Then valuable and devout hermits have been built on along the cliff, as with shelter, unattractive dwellings with very different forms and different purposes.

Blaca is therefore truly discovered as a carved jewel of decorated stone.

When the amazed stranger or our local Croat found himself in rooms of Blaca he can not understand how they found here concert piano and unique cuisine in the world that it's one half is in the cave, and the second half in upgraded part. These contrasts are possible only in Blaca and nowhere else.

on the other hand, we turn attention to the astronomical machines of this, the world famous astronomical observatory, on the rich collection of old weapons, on  a multitude of diverse old watches, on a very rich library with many uninvestigated manuscripts written Croatian Cyrillic alphabet.

Therefore it is worth visit, the effort is worth long time walk trough vineyards, fields of Broom, pine forests and macchia to see something which does not have anywhere in Europe.
