Pucisca

Pucisca is placed on the northwest side of the island of Brac, known by extracting and processing Brac stone. Town has about 1700 residents and it is the second largest on the island of Brac immediately after Supetar. Pucisca is in a deep bay that divided into tvo smaller: Pucis plateau and Stipan port.

Widely known Brac stone which is embedded in the White house in America is extracting, processing and engraving in a large quarry eastern from Pucisca. Stone engrave continuity nowadays continues trough the school of engraving stone and provides processing Brac stone, the main income for population.

In a Pucisca there are numerous historical sites which are valuable knowledge and attention. The most famous of them are in Stipan bay where is placed Early Cristian church with a baptistery, next to church there is a tomb of the famous Dalmatian sculptor Michiely. In the parish church there is the relief of St. Jerome and a famous charter letter (Poveljska listina).

In the vicinity of Prucisca were built many castles in the Middle Ages. Also, above the town there is a Gothic church with relief of St. George.

Tourists will find in Pucisca beautiful bay with clean and clear sea, the original Brac kitchen, Brac lamb. the right olive oil and good wine. If you want an active vacation you have good conditions for sailing, paragliding, scuba diving, biking and hiking.
